Music has always been  a central part of my life from a very young age. At the age of 5,  I was expected to learn the piano from my great aunt. She gave my family her spare Yamaha upright piano to learn, and that started my love for music. In middle school, my parents bought me my Estonia baby grand piano and  I studied under the guidance of Miranda Wu. I completed certificate of Meirt Level 1 to 10 and won numerous awards for the piano.

At the age of 9 years old, my aunt from my mom's side asked me if I wanted to learn the flute and gave me her Kawaii student model flute that was lying in her house unused. Because it was free, I graciously took it and my love for the flute blossomed.  In 2018, at the age of 18 years old,  I won the American protege International Competition and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. I graduated UCI with a a bachelor of music performance degree with the flute and a minor in business management.  Monica teaches in the Irvine, Tustin, Anaheim, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, and Santa Ana areas.

Monica plays on a Miramatsu Ex-HV model flute with a butterfly- engraved headjoint.
